What you will do

• Lead the design and execution of tissue-based imaging assays including H&E, IHC, and spatial biology.
• Build image analysis workflows to extract multi-scale morpho-quantitative biomarkers.
• Partner with bioinformatics and AI/ML teams to refine quantitative image analysis and DPAI workflows.
• Collaborate with pathologists to oversee WSI annotation and generate high-quality datasets.
• Drive tumor phenotyping and quantitative analyses to characterize tumor, stromal, and immune cell populations.
• Guide operational deployment, validation, and scaling of analytical tools for CLIA/CAP regulated environments.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in biology, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, computational biology, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of postgraduate experience, with at least 3 years in a regulated industry preferred.
• Proven expertise in tissue staining assays, IHC, quantitative histopathology, and TME phenotyping.
• Hands-on experience with image analysis platforms like ImageJ/FIJI and digital pathology tools like QuPath or HALO.
• Proficiency in quantitative methods using Python or R.
• Must be able to work on-site in San Diego in a hybrid capacity.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in developing digital pathology AI solutions.
• Expertise in immune-oncology biology.
