Location: Must permanently reside in the US full-time. Hybrid in San Francisco (3 days/week), remote in New York City and Seattle.

Salary: $162,000 – $258,750 + equity

What you will do

• Lead and grow a high-performing team of technical talent.
• Develop strategic roadmaps for core platform capabilities, including authentication, payments, and entitlements.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to replace bespoke solutions with common platform services.
• Partner with Cloud/Ops and Security to ensure high availability and compliance standards.
• Work with Principal Engineers to evaluate build-vs-buy tradeoffs and address architectural gaps.
• Balance the reduction of technical debt with the delivery of new platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience leading and developing software development teams.
• Experience delivering software within a mobile development environment.
• Background in building and operating high-availability, distributed backend systems.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale refactors and platform migrations.
• Track record of using observability stacks (e.g., Datadog, OpenTelemetry) to drive engineering decisions.
• BS degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in health tech, fintech, or other highly regulated industries.
• Ability to articulate and drive changes across multiple teams and stakeholder levels.
