What you will do

• Lead the design, build, and continuous improvement of scalable data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures on Databricks and Azure.
• Contribute hands-on to high-impact pipelines, perform code and architecture reviews, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Manage and mentor a team of 5–8 data engineers and analysts, owning hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Orchestrate the team's portfolio of work using Agile practices to ensure on-time delivery aligned with global priorities.
• Partner with Global Data Leadership (AI, governance, and product) to deliver cohesive, end-to-end data solutions.
• Ensure production health and operational excellence, including SLAs, on-call posture, and incident response.

Requirements

• Significant data engineering experience with Databricks (Spark, Lakeflow, DLT, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog) and the Azure data ecosystem.
• Proven experience formally managing data engineers, including performance management and career coaching.
• Track record of delivering production-grade data platforms at scale with strong reliability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Ability to lead complex technical work through influence in a global, matrixed environment.
• Familiarity with modern architecture patterns such as Lakehouse, medallion, and data mesh, along with DataOps practices.
• Must be able to operate within US/EMEA time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD and IaC using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Databricks Automation Bundles (DABS).
• Experience leading teams through technology transitions and adopting new data tooling.
• Experience working across multiple geographies and time zones within a global organization.
