What you will do

• Design, develop, and scale core data infrastructure using GCP, Spark, Databricks, and Fivetran.
• Build robust and maintainable ETL/ELT workflows for diverse structured and unstructured data needs.
• Implement and manage Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines for near real-time data replication.
• Define and enforce data governance, compliance standards, and metadata management.
• Manage streaming and batch data pipelines for analytics, product, and compliance use cases.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data is accessible, trustworthy, and impactful.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on scalable data architectures.
• Strong expertise in GCP (IAM, GCS, Pub/Sub) and hands-on experience with Spark and Databricks.
• Experience with CDC technologies (e.g., Fivetran) and ETL/ELT tools (dbt, Airflow, Dataform).
• Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing and automation.
• Must be based in the US or Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for automation.
• Background in HIPAA or other regulated environments with a focus on data privacy.
• Familiarity with the dbt Semantic Layer and modern data modeling.
• Experience with data observability platforms or machine learning data pipelines.
• Experience building scalable solutions in a 0-1 startup environment.
