TL;DR

Lead Fire Engineer (Fire Protection): Designing advanced building systems and preparing design documents with an accent on technical excellence and out-of-the-box solutions. Location: Remote or Hybrid (Lenexa, Bentonville, Dallas, Kansas City). Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

  • Lead project and design efforts from initial concept through final completion.
  • Prepare complex design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Serve as an Engineer of Record (EOR), taking accountability for the signing and sealing of projects.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced designers and engineers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners and customers to expand business opportunities.
  • Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural engineering.
  • PE license required.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience (or 10 years with a high school diploma).
  • Additional certifications such as BEMP, CPD, CDP, or NICET.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Sustainability certifications (e.g., CDP, LEED, WELL).
