What you will do

• Design, develop, and modify scalable software systems while considering service architecture.
• Analyze business needs to determine optimal software solutions or modifications to existing systems.
• Translate complex business requirements into usable, high-quality code.
• Lead design and code reviews to ensure engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with QA, Product Managers, and technical leads to shape engineering vision and roadmaps.
• Break down large initiatives into incrementally implementable deliverables.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience as a backend software engineer for non-trivial web applications.
• 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Extensive experience with data model design for relational databases.
• Strong communication skills to describe complex problems and solutions.
• Ability to think critically about business goals and their impact on technical decisions.
• Experience working across teams to tackle complex issues.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hotwire Turbo/Stimulus and Tailwind.
• Extensive experience using SQL for complex reporting or investigating non-trivial issues.
• Strong experience in Frontend or DevOps/Infrastructure.
• Prior experience in the FinTech industry.
