Senior Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Develop key components of a production-grade collateral exchange platform for the financial sector.
• Design, develop, implement, maintain, test, and debug Java/Kotlin applications and software.
• Refactor and redesign platform components to improve scalability, maintainability, security, resilience, confidentiality, and long-term performance.
• Work with requirements, identify production and non-production issues, and create software documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile collaboration, product improvement discussions, and on-call rotations to resolve production issues and maintain high availability.
• Coach and mentor other development team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
• 8+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or other JVM-based languages, with strong computer science fundamentals in databases, concurrency, security, and networking.
• Experience delivering successful large-scale products, working with relational databases, message queues, Public Key Infrastructure, and REST APIs.
• Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments, including Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; the role is remote from EU countries.

Nice to have

• Experience with Canton/Daml or other distributed transaction or ledger technologies.
