What you will do

• Manage 3-5 technical writer direct reports, overseeing their day-to-day work and supporting their professional growth.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to create and maintain public documentation for users, developers, and SREs.
• Research technical details for documentation by experimenting with the product and digging into source code.
• Collaborate with the contributor community to develop and improve documentation standards and processes.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience researching and developing documentation for technical topics like APIs, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring.
• 2-5 years of experience managing a team of technical writers and breaking down complex projects into achievable plans.
• Proficiency in reading at least two programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, Go, bash).
• Experience with documentation-as-code, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD tooling.
• Must be based in California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, or Washington (USA).
• Possession of publicly available technical writing samples.
