What you will do

• Develop end-to-end solution architectures aligned with CMS business objectives and technical standards.
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs, including logical, physical, and deployment architecture diagrams.
• Design secure healthcare data exchange solutions using FHIR, HL7, Direct Messaging, and RESTful APIs.
• Build cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services, including containerized and serverless application architectures.
• Collaborate with the Security Lead to embed HIPAA safeguards, NIST controls, and FedRAMP requirements into all designs.
• Provide architectural guidance to development teams and mentor engineers through code reviews and technical risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems architecture, or enterprise application design.
• Must be based in one of the approved US states.
• Experience designing cloud-native, API-driven solutions using AWS services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR and HL7.
• Experience supporting large-scale federal or healthcare technology programs.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Associate.
• Experience supporting CMS modernization initiatives or healthcare exchange systems.
• Experience with data lake, lakehouse, or medallion architecture initiatives.
• Familiarity with secure data-sharing frameworks and healthcare APIs.
