What you will do

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Change for Children strategy.
  • Oversee the effective stewardship and distribution of approximately £50m in annual grant funding.
  • Drive strategic partnerships with government, sector partners, and academia to maximize organizational impact.
  • Ensure evidence, insight, and learning inform all funding approaches and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to shape the organization's overall direction and culture.
  • Represent the organization externally to improve practice and shape public understanding of issues affecting children.

Requirements

  • Significant senior leadership experience in the charitable or public sectors.
  • Strong experience in strategic grant-making and impact management at a senior level.
  • Proven ability to oversee significant funding budgets with strong governance and value for money.
  • Deep understanding of issues affecting children and young people across the UK.
  • Experience working effectively with Boards, Committees, and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach in a collaborative environment.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of the UK funding and grant-making landscape.
  • Experience working within or alongside media, communications, or public engagement organizations.
  • Knowledge of policy and public affairs relating to children and young people in the UK.
