TL;DR

Web Developer (Drupal/USWDS): Designing, developing, and maintaining secure, accessible, and high-performing public-facing web properties for FEMA with an accent on federal digital standards and USWDS adoption. Focus on implementing Section 508/WCAG compliance, Drupal CMS templating, and optimizing user experience through analytics instrumentation.

Location: Remote (US), with potential for occasional on-site meetings in the Washington DC metro area. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain front-end code for FEMA.gov and Ready.gov using HTML, CSS, JS, and jQuery.
• Implement the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) in alignment with DHS and FEMA brand guidance.
• Develop and maintain Drupal-based CMS templates, content types, and modules, including security patching and administration.
• Ensure and validate Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 Level A/AA compliance across all digital deliverables.
• Instrument and analyze web traffic using Google Analytics and Site improve to optimize user experience.
• Manage QA for releases, coordinate after-hours deployments, and provide surge support during disaster operations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience with Drupal CMS templating and administration.
• Knowledge of USWDS and federal web standards.
• Ability to implement and validate Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 compliance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Availability for surge support during disaster operations including evenings and weekends as needed.
