Layout Integration Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Layout Integration Engineer (Automotive): Developing and integrating manufacturing layouts for North American facilities with an accent on 2D/3D AutoCAD design and 3D point cloud data. Focus on optimizing floor space, ensuring adherence to GM standards, and coordinating cross-functional integration for powertrain and battery systems.

Location: Warren, Michigan. Hybrid: expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week

What you will do

• Execute layout development and integration for North America facilities supporting Casting, Engine, Transmission, Drive Unit, and RESS
• Lead integration meetings, manage technical direction, and maintain issue lists for cross-functional teams
• Incorporate multi-discipline input to support lean, efficient processes with minimal floor space and building renovation
• Generate installation-level design and detailed drawings as required
• Maintain layout drawing files and ensure adherence to Central Layout Group standards

Requirements

• 3+ years of layout experience utilizing AutoCAD
• 3+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Hands-on manual field checking experience
• College degree or equivalent experience and training
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future (H1-B, OPT, STEM OPT, etc.)
• Ability to travel to North American facilities without restriction

Nice to have

• 5+ years of 2D/3D layout experience using AutoCAD
• 3+ years of experience in a Powertrain manufacturing site (Production, Maintenance, or ME)
• Experience with NavisWorks, Unigraphics (NX), and Cintoo
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Lean Material Flow
