TL;DR
Design Engineer (Mechanical Engineering): Supporting the development and customization of mining equipment product lines, specifically Crawler Systems for electric rope shovels and hydraulic excavators, with an accent on 3D modeling, simulation, and reverse engineering. Location: Toronto, Canada. Must currently hold full, unrestricted work authorisation in Canada
Salary: $82,000 - $102,000 CAD

What you will do
- Create and update 3D models, detailed drawings, and design documentation.
- Support reverse engineering, product improvements, and new concept design for Crawler Systems and Buckets.
- Perform analysis and simulation to ensure safe and reliable product design.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure design feasibility.
- Conduct field evaluations and product reviews via site and manufacturing visits.
- Manage product data and design changes within the PLM system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in mechanical design or product development within mining, construction, or heavy manufacturing.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, detailed drafting, and engineering analysis.
- Full, unrestricted work authorisation in Canada ( is unable to support work permits or sponsorship).
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel locally and regionally (10-20%).
Nice to have
- Experience with Siemens NX, ANSYS, Siemens Teamcenter PLM, or 3D scanning.
- Spanish language capability (highly preferred) or French.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, mine site requirements, and MSHA or regional mine hazard training.
