Design Engineering Specialist (Mechanical Engineering): Designing, developing, and validating drivetrain components for Medium and Large Track-Type Tractors with an accent on technical leadership across design, validation, and manufacturing. Focus on driving structured problem-solving for factory and field issues and integrating new technologies to improve product performance and supply continuity.

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in East Peoria, IL

Salary: $128,470.00 - $192,710.00

What you will do

• Develop design parameters and technical specifications for drivetrain components to meet customer requirements.
• Lead the evolution of technical designs, validation strategies, and implementation plans across product lifecycles.
• Manage supplier technical readiness through capability assessments, PPAP reviews, and APQP deliverables.
• Solve complex factory and field issues using data-driven analysis and statistical methods.
• Integrate new materials and manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate engineering tasks with global teams, purchasing, and supply chain.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Materials Science.
• Must be located in or able to relocate to East Peoria, IL.
• Visa sponsorship is NOT available.
• Proficiency in CAD/PLM tools such as Creo, Teamcenter, or PRWB.
• Knowledge of product development life cycle (PDLC) within manufacturing organizations.
• Strong analytical thinking and technical troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with heavy-equipment or TTT drivetrain applications.
• Strong supplier-facing capability, including capability studies and deviation management.
• Cross-functional leadership experience driving alignment across diverse teams.
• Understanding of manufacturing engineering and assembly processes.
