What you will do

• Manage and grow a high-performing fullstack engineering team while driving end-to-end product delivery.
• Set technical direction for AI-powered systems, including document retrieval, planning agents, and LLM evaluation.
• Translate product vision into scalable architecture, balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
• Contribute hands-on to design, code, and architecture reviews to unblock the team and solve complex problems.
• Partner with Product, Design, and AI teams to ship intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
• Establish an engineering culture centered on simplicity, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a product-focused fullstack or backend software engineer.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineers with ownership over delivery and team health.
• Proven ability to design and operate backend platforms supporting multiple product lines at scale.
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks like React or backend systems like Python, Node, or Go.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and programming skills.
• Must be based in Toronto or willing to relocate with provided assistance.
