What you will do

• Lead and manage a team of 6–10 engineers building a cross-platform runtime.
• Own the technical direction, roadmap, and overall delivery of the runtime components.
• Partner with product management to align technical execution with business goals.
• Hire, retain, and grow top-tier systems engineering talent.
• Maintain a high bar for engineering excellence and operational stability.
• Facilitate communication and status reporting for critical projects across teams.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States or Canada.
• 5+ years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams.
• 5+ years of hands-on systems programming experience (hypervisors, container runtimes, OS internals, or kernel development).
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Deep understanding of VMMs, hypervisors, and hardware-assisted virtualization.
• Experience with container runtimes such as OCI, containerd, or runc.
