What you will do

• Manage and mentor a senior engineering team within a growth-stage startup environment.
• Translate market signals regarding AI infrastructure and agentic tooling into shippable POCs and reference architectures.
• Establish the standard for using AI coding agents to accelerate shipping cadence without compromising security or quality.
• Own the quality of externally visible artifacts, including open-source repositories, technical blog posts, and conference demos.
• Collaborate with core platform engineering, security, and go-to-market teams for direct customer co-development.
• Balance fast prototype cycles with long-term strategic bets on the convergence of connectivity, identity, and AI.

Requirements

• Substantial experience managing and mentoring engineering teams, including performance and career development.
• Strong proficiency in Go, the primary language used across the hirify.global stack.
• Power user of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) with the ability to coach others on secure and effective AI-driven workflows.
• Comfort with exploratory, customer-facing engineering and translating conversations into technical designs.
• Experience working in early-stage startups where priorities shift quickly based on market signals.
• Must be based in Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience building applications on top of LLMs and agentic systems.
• Background in networking (L4-L7 connectivity, browser and DNS behaviors).
• Expertise in identity infrastructure, including IdP platforms, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and RBAC/ABAC models.
• Experience leading teams whose output is publicly visible via open source or DevRel activities.
