What you will do

• Optimize and scale inherited Scala systems by identifying root causes and removing implementation bottlenecks.
• Redesign the data layer supporting ML and AI products to solve scalability challenges.
• Develop a Rust framework to enable the shipment of performant, correct services.
• Improve platform-wide observability and resilience to detect issues before they impact customers.
• Shape engineering standards and developer tooling to multiply the effectiveness of all engineers.
• Drive the adoption of AI tools across the organization to enhance engineering productivity.

Requirements

• Proficiency in the JVM ecosystem, specifically Java and Scala.
• Strong experience with Python, SQL, and data processing tools like Spark.
• Expertise in distributed systems design and resilience engineering.
• Ability to reason about whole systems and navigate large, unfamiliar codebases.
• Must be based in the United States.
