What you will do

• Own the end-to-end accounting function, including accounts payable, vendor diligence, and revenue recognition in compliance with US GAAP.
• Build and maintain the internal control environment, including payroll reviews, journal entries, and systems access governance.
• Coordinate income tax compliance and manage year-end reporting for employees, contractors, and hosts (W-2s, 1099s).
• Manage treasury operations, including cash management, Positive Pay, and covenant tracking for financing arrangements.
• Lead the annual financial audit, workers' compensation audit, and 409A valuations.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Operations to improve systems and support responsible business growth.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong foundation in audit.
• CPA certification is required.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, financial statement preparation, and accounting controls.
• Ability to independently own complex accounting processes end-to-end.
• Strong analytical rigor and a natural instinct for identifying risk and inefficiencies.

Nice to have

• Experience writing basic SQL queries.
• Experience leading large-scale 1099 programs.
• Background in real estate, startups, or insurance environments.
• Experience as the primary owner of an annual financial audit.
