TL;DR
iOS People Lead (Swift/iOS): Leading and mentoring an iOS engineering team while building and improving a large-scale travel app with an accent on people leadership, complex user interfaces, performance, and maintainability. Focus on balancing technical excellence with team development, optimizing concurrency and memory usage, and strengthening CI/CD and app architecture.
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid work with two days per week in the office
Salary: €100,000–€115,000 gross per year, including 8% holiday allowance, based on 40 hours per week.

What you will do
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of iOS engineers.
- Spend approximately 40% of the role on people leadership and 60% as a senior iOS engineer.
- Partner with the iOS Tech Lead to balance technical excellence with effective people leadership.
- Develop and improve the app in collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers.
- Improve app maintainability, resiliency, and extensibility while addressing and preventing technical debt.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience leading teams of 3–4 or more engineers.
- Strong hands-on experience leading and mentoring engineers.
- Strong iOS development background with Swift; familiarity with legacy Objective-C code.
- Extensive experience with large apps published in the App Store.
- In-depth knowledge of UIKit and SwiftUI, including complex user interfaces, multithreading, GCD, Combine, and Swift Concurrency.
- Experience with Xcode Instruments, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and AI development tools.
Nice to have
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex to improve development speed, code quality, and debugging.
