AI Team Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid role in Hilversum, Netherlands; applicants must live within commuting distance of the office. The role combines office and remote work under a 60:40 policy. Working from abroad is available for up to 2 weeks per year.

What you will do

• Lead a hands-on AI team of two engineers and turn leadership and AI Board priorities into scoped production deliverables.
• Set AI platform and tool standards covering data access, cost, integration, maintenance, and vendor delivery.
• Manage the Google Cloud agent platform and its generative capabilities with the cloud team.
• Own monitoring, maintenance, running costs, and incident handling for production AI solutions.
• Act as the central AI contact, build an AI champions network across departments, and coordinate internal and external delivery.
• Track savings and adoption, report value to leadership, and coach engineers toward shared coverage.

Requirements

• Experience in technical product ownership, delivery leadership, or engineering leadership, including leading a small team delivering solutions and supporting internal users.
• Recent hands-on experience delivering AI solutions, with understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, and language-model applications.
• Experience reviewing partner architectures and estimates and managing agencies, system integrators, or freelancers on fixed-scope work.
• Strong decision-making, stakeholder communication, and business-case skills in changing environments.
• Deep understanding of data access, privacy, and the risks of AI tools that can read or change business data.
• Written and verbal English communication skills required. Dutch is a plus.

• Experience with Google Cloud.
• Retail, fashion, or ecommerce experience.
• Dutch language skills.
