TL;DR

Staff Engineer (Digital ASIC Design): Designing, implementing, and verifying digital signal processing and SoC logic for next-generation medical imaging products with an accent on low-power RTL and high-bandwidth on-chip datapaths. Focus on micro-architecture ownership, optimizing DSP algorithms, and driving functional closure through tapeout.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in the Greater SF Bay Area or Burlington, MA

What you will do

  • Develop low-power RTL for large SoCs utilizing advanced process nodes.
  • Implement and optimize digital signal processing algorithms in RTL.
  • Integrate multiple embedded processor cores into complex large-scale designs.
  • Architect and develop efficient high-bandwidth on-chip data paths.
  • Own defined digital IP subsystems from micro-architecture and implementation through verification and tapeout support.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital IC/ASIC/SoC design with substantial hands-on RTL ownership.
  • Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog, specifically with pipelined datapaths and control logic.
  • Proven track record of completing at least one major-IP or full-chip tapeout cycle.
  • Strong understanding of silicon-level constraints, including CDC/RDC risk mitigation and PPA tradeoffs.
  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical silicon design experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience implementing compute-intensive DSP pipelines (e.g., beamforming, filtering).
  • Exposure to ultrasound or medical imaging systems and sensor data acquisition.
  • Advanced-node experience (28nm or smaller), including third-party IP integration.
  • Experience integrating programmable compute subsystems (MPU/accelerator).
