TL;DR

Staff Digital Design Engineer (Mixed-Signal): Designing and implementing high-performance mixed-signal ICs and SoC devices for consumer and industrial electronics with an accent on RTL development, DSP blocks, and digital control logic. Focus on bringing digital subsystems from concept to production silicon and optimizing interaction between digital and analog circuitry.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in Austin (TX), Greensboro (NC), or Chandler (AZ). Candidates must be able to access technical data without a requirement for an export license.

What you will do

  • Design and implement digital subsystems and IP blocks for mixed-signal ICs from architecture through tape-out.
  • Develop RTL designs using Verilog and integrate them into larger SoC environments.
  • Design and verify DSP, control, and data-path logic, including calibration and monitoring state machines.
  • Perform functional and integration verification, supporting UVM-based teams.
  • Contribute to behavioral and system modeling of digital and mixed-signal systems.
  • Collaborate with analog, verification, layout, and test teams to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Professional experience: Bachelor’s (7+ years), Master’s (5+ years), or PhD (3+ years) in relevant digital IC design.
  • Strong working knowledge of Verilog RTL design.
  • Solid understanding of the digital design flow, including microarchitecture, CDC, functional verification, and timing constraints.
  • Experience designing and verifying complex state machines and control logic.
  • Familiarity with CMOS VLSI design fundamentals.

Nice to have

  • Expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and implementing FIR/IIR filters.
  • Familiarity with ARM-based SoCs, microprocessor subsystems, buses, and peripherals.
  • Experience with low-power and high-performance ASIC design techniques.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB or Simulink for modeling and algorithm development.
  • Strong lab and silicon validation skills, including debug and characterization.
