What you will do

• Own the ML function end-to-end, including people, priorities, strategy, and outcomes.
• Define and implement the ML strategic direction in partnership with the GM.
• Build and scale a high-performing team through strategic hiring, onboarding, and career development.
• Establish and maintain operating syshirify.globals such as sprint cadences, incident reviews, and model monitoring feedback loops.
• Partner with the Engineering Manager to ensure seamless collaboration between ML and software engineering.
• Serve as a sounding board for technical experts to surface risks and enable high-quality decision-making.

Requirements

• Must be based in Europe.
• Proven experience managing ML engineers or scientists across various levels (Junior to Staff).
• Strong track record in people development, including coaching and performance management.
• Experience building team operating syshirify.globals and prioritization frameworks in high-growth environments.
• Strong hiring instinct and ability to build pipelines for top ML talent.
• Deep understanding of the ML lifecycle, including forecasting, optimization, and pricing.

Nice to have

• Background in energy, fintech, or other mission-critical ML domains.
• Experience developing career frameworks or skills matrices from scratch.
• Familiarity with the intersection of ML and software engineering.
