Location: Remote (Distributed across Europe)
Salary: £105,000 – £120,000 + Equity

What you will do
- Own the ML function end-to-end, including people, priorities, strategy, and outcomes.
- Define and implement the ML strategic direction in partnership with the GM.
- Build and scale a high-performing team through strategic hiring, onboarding, and career development.
- Establish and maintain operating syss such as sprint cadences, incident reviews, and model monitoring feedback loops.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager to ensure seamless collaboration between ML and software engineering.
- Serve as a sounding board for technical experts to surface risks and enable high-quality decision-making.
Requirements
- Must be based in Europe.
- Proven experience managing ML engineers or scientists across various levels (Junior to Staff).
- Strong track record in people development, including coaching and performance management.
- Experience building team operating syss and prioritization frameworks in high-growth environments.
- Strong hiring instinct and ability to build pipelines for top ML talent.
- Deep understanding of the ML lifecycle, including forecasting, optimization, and pricing.
Nice to have
- Background in energy, fintech, or other mission-critical ML domains.
- Experience developing career frameworks or skills matrices from scratch.
- Familiarity with the intersection of ML and software engineering.
