What you will do

• Manage monthly bank and cash reconciliations, limited accounts payable processing, and customer invoicing.
• Prepare and issue GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Track and reconcile carbon credit inventory, issuances, sales, and related revenue.
• Develop and document accounting policies, internal controls, and scalable financial processes.
• Support annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
• Partner with project managers to monitor project-level expenses and ensure accurate revenue recognition.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Must reside in Eastern Time Zone.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience building accounting processes in a startup or early-stage environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in environmental markets, renewable energy, forestry, or carbon credits.
• Background in joint venture or partnership accounting.
• Experience with inventory or environmental asset accounting.
