What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of Applied Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers through hiring, coaching, and development.
• Define the technical vision and strategy for recommendation systems, AIGC, and LLM-powered content generation.
• Drive end-to-end execution from ideation and design to production and iteration.
• Oversee system architecture and scalability to ensure robust, high-quality ML solutions.
• Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership to align priorities.
• Mentor the team to foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Must be based in or be able to work from the Redmond, US office (Hybrid policy applies).
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of related experience in statistics, predictive analytics, or research (adjusted based on degree level).
• 3+ years of proven people management experience.
• Hands-on expertise in LLMs, NLP, or recommendation systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, or Java.

Nice to have

• Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Track record of delivering large-scale, production-grade ML systems.
• Experience with LLM fine-tuning, evaluation, and real-world product deployment.
• Background in distributed systems and large-scale data processing tools like Spark.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
