What you will do

  • Line-manage European IG reporters, providing consistent feedback and holding the team to high standards.
  • Edit and sharpen copy from reporters, improving angles, sourcing, accuracy, and pace.
  • Define the coverage strategy across primary and secondary markets, credit fundamentals, and the macro backdrop.
  • Report and break market-moving stories on major deals, themes, and issuers.
  • Cultivate and maintain a senior source network across syndicate desks, investors, treasurers, and lawyers.
  • Drive long-form investigative pieces and represent the company at industry conferences and panels.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience reporting on credit markets with deep familiarity with European Investment Grade.
  • Proven track record of breaking original, market-moving stories.
  • Strong editing instincts and the ability to improve technical drafts for clarity and impact.
  • Experience in people management or formal mentoring of other reporters.
  • Deep technical knowledge of credit details including spreads, curves, ratings, and covenants.
  • Excellent written English proficiency.
