System Administrator

Location: On-site at a VA client campus with travel to client locations as required. Only U.S. citizens are eligible due to federal contract requirements; the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination.

Salary: $45,000–$56,000 per year

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, test, and troubleshoot systems, networks, endpoints, printers, and mobile devices.
• Provide on-site customer support for hardware and software issues, documenting incidents and changes in ServiceNow.
• Provision endpoints, perform imaging, desktop support, operating system patching, upgrades, software installations, and equipment refreshes.
• Monitor system performance, analyze logs, diagnose failures, and repair, reconfigure, or replace defective components.
• Use Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and related tools to troubleshoot performance issues and deploy software packages.
• Manage IT assets, inventories, equipment turn-ins, media sanitization, audits, reporting, and asset portfolio processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 8+ years of system administration experience, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience performing routine system administration tasks and maintaining system administration logs.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting a wide variety of systems and networks, including high-volume or high-availability environments.
• Knowledge of debugging protocols and processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot customer-reported problems and implement corrective actions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination.
