System Administrator

TL;DR

System Administrator (Infrastructure): Managing and optimizing servers and networks for federal sector critical infrastructure with an accent on system maintenance, hardware deployment, and security. Focus on troubleshooting hardware/software issues, provisioning endpoints, and ensuring high availability of IT systems.

Location: Onsite (Must be based in the US and able to work at a VA site campus)

Salary: $43,000.00 to $56,000.00

What you will do

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers, networks, and IT equipment across a large campus.
• Provision and image endpoints, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Monitor system performance and diagnose hardware/software issues using SCOM and other administrative tools.
• Manage user accounts, elevated privileges, and perform OS patching and software installations.
• Conduct physical hardware maintenance, including cabling in server closets and equipment refreshes.
• Track all system changes and incidents within ServiceNow and perform comprehensive asset management.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is strictly required due to federal contract requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance or Suitability Determination.
• HS diploma/GED with 8+ years of experience in system administration, or a BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience maintaining high-availability systems and conducting routine administration tasks.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting equipment up to 50 lbs and traversing large sites.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting customer-reported issues and implementing corrective actions.
