Staff Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Salary: $150,000 - $160,000

What you will do

• Lead full stack development across front end and back end systems for federal copyright modernization workstreams.
• Plan and execute technical roadmaps independently and drive technical direction.
• Serve as the primary technical lead, proactively communicating progress, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Evolve complex, ambiguous systems to surface constraints and uncover new opportunities.
• Reduce technical ambiguity through documentation, refactoring, and automated testing practices.
• Conduct technical interviews and support bid writing, tech demos, and client-facing communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent).
• Expert-level proficiency in at least one major full stack technology stack.
• Strong experience with backend development using Python and/or Java.
• Proficiency with frontend development using Angular or similar modern frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and AWS cloud-native architecture.
• Must meet federal suitability requirements and pass a background investigation as a condition of employment.

Nice to have

• Experience modernizing legacy systems within a federal agency environment.
• Familiarity with SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks.
• Experience with AWS Lambda, Terraform, or containerized deployment patterns.
• Prior work on programs involving federal records, licensing, or copyright systems.
