Software Engineer (Cloud Native)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Cloud Native/Fullstack): Developing and delivering cloud-native solutions and containerized applications for a DoD customer with an accent on DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes platforms. Focus on engineering data-related services, implementing OpenAPI compliant schemas, and optimizing AWS cloud infrastructure.

Location: Remote (Must be a US Citizen with Secret clearance eligibility)

What you will do

• Architect and implement containerized applications and Kubernetes platforms using cloud-native technologies.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to shift security left and ensure continuous software delivery.
• Develop data-focused solutions, including REST APIs and OpenAPI compliant data schemas.
• Evolve AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on data services like S3, RDS, and EMR.
• Implement data persistence and query logic using SQL and ORM libraries.
• Collaborate within an Agile team to deliver first-class solutions for DoD customers.

Requirements

• US Citizenship and Secret clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) is mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 1+ years of professional experience in an Agile team using DevOps practices.
• Proficiency in modern languages: Python (FastAPI, Flask), JavaScript (Node.js, React, Vue, Svelte), or Java (Spring Boot).
• Experience with Docker/OCI containers and Linux system command line tools.
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and data validation business rules.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes (Rancher RKE2, AWS EKS) and microservice architectures.
• Knowledge of big data technologies: Apache Airflow, Trino, Spark, and Lakehouse architectures.
• Familiarity with dbt Core, Grafana, and observability/monitoring tools.
• Experience with NIST task management frameworks and security accreditation processes.
