SMT Process Engineer (PCBA)

What you will do

• Optimize PCBA manufacturing processes, including stencil design, solder paste application, pick-and-place, and reflow soldering.
• Lead Design of Experiments (DOEs) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to enhance process reliability.
• Configure Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings in accordance with product structures and internal standards.
• Analyze and resolve PCBA defects by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
• Procure necessary equipment and maintain detailed documentation of processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in New Haven, CT.
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in SMT manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in conformal coating processes.
• Proficiency in SMT equipment operation and troubleshooting (placement equipment, SPI, AOI, printers, ovens).
• Strong experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
