Data Analyst (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Data Analyst (Gamedev): Analyzing large datasets to optimize player retention and monetization for free-to-play games with an accent on statistical analysis and A/B testing. Focus on building automated dashboards, querying high-volume B2C data, and driving product feature iteration.

Location: Must be based in Vancouver for full-time on-site work (5 days/week)

Salary: $38 - $43 an hour

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business goals and data needs into actionable insights.
• Extract and manipulate large data sets using SQL to identify trends, correlations, and patterns.
• Design, execute, and manage A/B tests to optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as retention and monetization.
• Develop and maintain a suite of Tableau dashboards and ad-hoc reports for various organizational needs.
• Measure and analyze the success of newly released product features to drive iterative optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative or related field.
• 3+ years of industry data analysis experience with solid knowledge of statistical methods.
• 1+ years of industry data experience in games (mobile, console, PC) or high-volume B2C mobile apps.
• Expert SQL skills and experience querying very large data sets.
• Must be based in Vancouver for full-time on-site work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google BigQuery, Tableau, and JIRA.
• Understanding of game design concepts and principles.
• Experience working specifically for a social or mobile game developer.
