Engineering Technician (Hardware)

Salary: $35.50–$46.25 per hour

What you will do

• Build R&D harnesses from scratch using lucid charts, excel files, and engineering drawings.
• Collaborate closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams to develop self-driving tech.
• Perform quality testing on harnesses and circuit boards, including pinning and diagnostics.
• Maintain detailed documentation and follow strict safety standards to meet internal deadlines.
• Operate with limited oversight to solve problems and support peers in an unstructured environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience in harness fabrication using 1:1 form boards in R&D and prototype spaces.
• Must be based in or able to work from Pittsburgh, PA on a hybrid schedule.
• Strong ability to read wiring schematics, layouts, and redline drawings.
• Proficiency with electrical tools: crimpers, dies, multimeters, presses, soldering, and microscopes.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, PLM, and CAD software.
• Ability to diagnose and isolate electrical problems rationally under pressure.

Nice to have

• IPC certifications (J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721).
• Certification and training in GD&T.
