Work Design Architect (Organizational Design): Designing and implementing an AI-accessible operating system for the R&D organization with an accent on process legibility, decision authority, and organizational coherence. Focus on building self-correcting systems that optimize organizational decision-making and integrating AI agents into structural workflows.
Location: Hybrid in Austin, Chicago, DC, or NYC. In-office attendance is required on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Salary: $179,000 – $195,000

What you will do
- Own and steward the R&D Operating Blueprint, ensuring it evolves with the organization.
- Lead operating rhythm design, including forum structures, cadence changes, and post-mortems.
- Serve as the internal expert on AI-native process design to build systems instead of static documents.
- Provide architectural coherence across all R&D levels, from pod to hive to org.
- Coach team members on the implementation of the operating model and provide guidance on craft.
Requirements
- Deep experience in program management, organizational design, or operating model work.
- Strong perspective on how AI changes organizational dynamics and decision-making bottlenecks.
- Proven ability to design and implement operating models within technical organizations.
- Ability to influence without authority through craft, accessibility, and credibility.
- Capability to make complex systems thinking legible to skeptical, busy audiences.
- Must be based in or able to work from the Austin, Chicago, DC, or NYC offices.
