What you will do

• Set and own the data science strategy across simulation, synthetic data, ML evaluation, and fleet operations analytics.
• Lead, grow, and develop a team of senior data scientists, ML engineers, and front-line managers.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Safety, and Operations leaders to define release criteria and performance metrics.
• Drive end-to-end ML applications, including dataset curation, scenario coverage, and continuous monitoring of fleet performance.
• Establish measurement and experimentation standards, such as A/B-style comparisons in simulation.
• Represent the company's data science work externally through publications and conference talks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience in data science, machine learning, or applied research.
• 4+ years of experience managing senior individual contributors and front-line managers.
• Direct experience leading ML work in autonomous vehicles, ADAS, robotics, or large-scale computer vision systems.
• Track record of leading teams of 10+ through major production launches or ODD expansions.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Robotics, or a related quantitative field.

Nice to have

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
• Experience with sim-to-real transfer or scenario-based evaluation for AV/robotics.
• Familiarity with safety-case construction and regulator engagement.
• Publications in top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ICRA, or RSS.
• Experience with C/C++ systems and GPU programming.
