Location: Fully remote; applicants may be based anywhere in the United States

Salary: $130,700–$174,300 per year in California; $117,700–$157,000 per year in New York and New Jersey; $130,700–$174,300 per year in Washington; CAD 115,700–154,300 per year in British Columbia. Base pay varies by market location and candidate-specific factors.

What you will do

• Develop backend architecture and services supporting NBA hirify.global online features.
• Design and optimize distributed systems for scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Build large-scale computing solutions handling millions of concurrent players.
• Develop efficient database structures and queries for high-volume, real-time transactions.
• Deliver low-latency, stable backend services and collaborate with engineering and design teams on online gameplay experiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience focused on backend and server-side systems.
• Strong C++ skills and understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language such as PHP, Perl, or Ruby; Python is preferred.
• Experience with distributed and scalable systems, multithreaded programming, database optimization, and SQL databases such as MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent large-scale software development experience.
• Familiarity with online gaming architectures and service design for live, connected player experiences.

Nice to have

• Experience developing secure transaction systems involving virtual currency and account-based features.
• Video game console development experience.
• Ability to research and integrate emerging technologies.
