Control Systems Engineer (Embedded)

TL;DR

Control Systems Engineer (Embedded): Design, development, and validation of electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices to optimize engine performance and emissions with an accent on dynamic feedback control theory and simulation. Focus on designing and verifying control algorithms through Model-in-Loop (MiL) and on-engine testing.

Location: Mossville, IL. This position requires working onsite five days a week.

Salary: $97,530.00 - $146,290.00

What you will do

• Collaborate with partners to develop and refine engine control system requirements.
• Design and evaluate control features using frequency and time domain design, MIMO systems, and digital signal processing.
• Develop and maintain Matlab/Simulink and GT-Power-based Model-in-Loop (MiL) simulation frameworks.
• Analyze and visualize performance data using Vector CANape, Matlab, and Python.
• Provide high-quality simulation-driven design analyses and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Professional experience in dynamic feedback control theory for spark-ignited engine control systems.
• Knowledge of discrete-time embedded systems, logical control (finite state machines), and physics-based controls.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Must be able to work onsite in Mossville, IL.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in engineering with professional engine control systems experience.
• Proficiency in MIMO systems using both time and frequency domains.
• Experience with gas, diesel, and dual fuel engines, including aftertreatment solutions.
• Advanced expertise in Matlab/Simulink and GT-Power engine models.
• Experience with NPI, NTI, and CPI product development processes.
