Senior System Engineer (Defense)

TL;DR

Senior System Engineer (Defense/C2): Designing and integrating complex system-of-systems architectures for national security and DoD programs with an accent on C2 systems and Tactical Data Links (TDL). Location: San Diego, CA. Must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain an Active Secret Clearance.

Salary: $140,000 - $177,442 per year

What you will do

• Design and integrate systems and system-of-systems architectures for mission-critical environments.
• Perform technical requirements definition and allocation across multiple systems and stakeholders.
• Conduct data analysis and interpret findings to support operational and technical decision-making.
• Develop and maintain critical technical documentation, including test plans and certification reports.
• Support administration, configuration, and troubleshooting across various operating systems and VMware environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute complex engineering and technical initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15+ years of relevant systems engineering or technical integration experience.
• Active Secret Clearance and US Citizenship are mandatory.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency in technical documentation and MS Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tactical Data Links (TDL), Command and Control (C2) software, or MIDS On-Ship (MOS).
• Experience as a systems administrator or handling COMSEC-related processes.
• Familiarity with C2EDS, COP Sync Tool, JNDA, or GPS integration.
• Background supporting government or large-scale enterprise defense programs.
