TL;DR

Location: Hybrid in Chicago, US (In-person required Tuesdays and Thursdays)

What you will do
- Set the technical direction for moderation systems, architecting and delivering full-stack applications and services.
- Own the React-based tools for human moderators and the associated backend infrastructure.
- Lead the integration of AI into the web stack, spanning from developer tooling to product features.
- Ensure security, privacy, and accessibility are integrated into every shipment.
- Mentor engineers and influence the broader organization's approach to web architecture, performance, and reliability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience across both frontend and backend systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in React, including modern web performance, state management, and accessibility.
- Strong backend experience in at least one modern language: Java, Kotlin, Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Hands-on experience operating cloud-native systems on AWS or GCP.
- Production experience with both relational and NoSQL database systems.
- Must be based in or be able to work hybrid in Chicago, US.

- Experience building and operating consumer-facing web products at scale.
- Strong UX instincts and modern web design fundamentals.
- Experience working with distributed teams across various time zones and borders.
