What you will do

• Set the technical direction for moderation systems, architecting and delivering full-stack applications and services.
• Own the React-based tools for human moderators and the associated backend infrastructure.
• Lead the integration of AI into the web stack, spanning from developer tooling to product features.
• Ensure security, privacy, and accessibility are integrated into every shipment.
• Mentor engineers and influence the broader organization's approach to web architecture, performance, and reliability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience across both frontend and backend systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in React, including modern web performance, state management, and accessibility.
• Strong backend experience in at least one modern language: Java, Kotlin, Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Hands-on experience operating cloud-native systems on AWS or GCP.
• Production experience with both relational and NoSQL database systems.
• Must be based in or be able to work hybrid in Chicago, US.

Nice to have

• Experience building and operating consumer-facing web products at scale.
• Strong UX instincts and modern web design fundamentals.
• Experience working with distributed teams across various time zones and borders.
