What you will do

• Build and operate federated, distributed billing systems for metering, rating, and invoicing.
• Develop billing strategies for AI products, including token-based inference and agent workflows.
• Design and deliver medium-to-large scale projects from specification to launch.
• Ensure system reliability and correctness through on-call rotation and systemic monitoring fixes.
• Partner with Product, Finance, and Legal teams to translate business needs into auditable systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in large-scale distributed systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems fundamentals (consistency, idempotency, fault tolerance).
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
• Fluency in SQL and deep understanding of data modeling and schema design.
• Must be based in or able to work from Menlo Park, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience in billing, payments, or financial systems at a SaaS or cloud company.
• Expertise in fraud detection or abuse mitigation systems.
• Experience designing pricing models for AI/ML products.
• Familiarity with hirify.global-specific tools like Snowpark, Cortex, or Streamlit.
