What you will do

• Lead and scale the nRF Cloud backend platform, ensuring reliability and performance for millions of IoT devices.
• Manage team productivity, identify blockers, and shape workflows to maximize output.
• Foster a healthy, supportive team culture with clear expectations and direct feedback.
• Contribute technically via architecture design, code reviews, and production debugging.
• Define the cloud platform roadmap with a bias toward experimentation and action.
• Champion observability and technical excellence across the organization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with 1+ year in engineering management.
• Deep expertise in AWS, including EKS, RDS, S3, EC2, and ECS.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, schema design, and query optimization.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, and/or TypeScript.
• Expertise in deploying and scaling production workloads with Kubernetes.
• Location: Must be based in Boston, United States

Nice to have

• Background in IoT, developer tools, or embedded systems tooling.
• Experience with MQTT, CoAP, or OTA update infrastructure.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse or other columnar/analytical databases.
• Experience owning technical portions of SOC 2 or other compliance processes.
