Director of Operations (Hardware)

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end operational pipeline from contract manufacturing through procurement, assembly, and last-mile shipping.
• Build and maintain the S&OP process to align demand signals, production planning, and inventory positioning.
• Manage a network of external partners, including CMs, assembly houses, 3PLs, and freight providers.
• Maintain total financial control over landed costs and unit economics for all product lines.
• Oversee the software provisioning process, ensuring correct configurations and serialization for each unit.
• Develop long-term sourcing strategies, including dual-sourcing and regional diversification.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of operations experience in a hardware product company shipping physical products at scale.
• Demonstrated ownership of contract manufacturing, assembly, and 3PL/logistics.
• Strong track record of building and running S&OP or demand/supply planning processes.
• Strong financial fluency in budgeting, landed cost analysis, and variance reporting.
• Experience managing units with embedded software/firmware, including serialization and tracking.
• Willing and eager to be on-site regularly with partners in the Los Angeles area.

Nice to have

• Background scaling operations across multiple product lines or SKUs.
• Experience with sensors or connected hardware products.
• Familiarity with ERP, inventory, or WMS systems used to track serialized goods.
