TL;DR

Migration Support Engineer (Cloud): Providing frontline L1/L1.5 support and troubleshooting VM migration failures for enterprise private cloud environments with an accent on OpenStack and Kubernetes infrastructure. Focus on resolving critical production incidents, automating migration validation workflows, and maintaining technical documentation for workload mobility.

Location: Must be based in Romania (Remote/Hybrid)

Compensation: $30,000–$40,000 per year

What you will do

  • Monitor and triage customer-reported issues across cloud platforms.
  • Respond to Sev1/Sev2 production incidents by gathering diagnostics and scoping impact.
  • Investigate and resolve VM migration failures, including live migration timeouts and volume inconsistencies.
  • Distinguish between control plane and data plane issues during migration troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to automation scripts to streamline migration validation and operational workflows.
  • Maintain knowledge base articles and migration playbooks.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Romania.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical support roles.
  • Strong administration skills in Linux, including storage and networking subsystems.
  • Working knowledge of OpenStack (Nova, Cinder, Neutron) and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or Go.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with VM migration and disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Experience with Ceph, OVN/OVS, and monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Kubernetes certification (CKA/CKAD).
  • Incident management experience in high-pressure environments.
