Data Engineer

TL;DR

Data Engineer: Designing and optimizing enterprise-level data management systems to support Object-Based Intelligence (OBI) analytic processes with an accent on scalable ETL pipelines and secure data architecture. Focus on integrating relational and non-relational databases, implementing GraphQL APIs, and leveraging containerization to support mission-critical intelligence workflows.

What you will do

• Manage complex, long-term projects involving the design, development, and integration of enterprise information systems and databases.
• Design and optimize resilient, scalable ETL pipelines using tools like Apache NiFi to support secure data acquisition and delivery.
• Implement GraphQL APIs to enable efficient data access and aggregation across distributed enterprise sources.
• Develop and maintain unstructured data management solutions, including content extraction, tagging, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Conduct comprehensive system testing, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Collaborate with team members to provide technical recommendations and briefings to senior leadership regarding data service technologies.

Requirements

• TS/SCI with Poly Clearance required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering in large-scale or mission-critical environments.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache NiFi or Airflow.
• Strong understanding of data security, access control, and system hardening in accordance with DoD and IC standards.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Data Science or Computer Engineering.
• Familiarity with semantic web technologies (RDF, OWL, SPARQL) and knowledge graphs.
• Experience supporting DIA, IC, or DoD analytic modernization initiatives.
• Certification in Data Management or Cloud Architecture.
