What you will do

• Design and ship backend APIs and services from 0-to-1 prototypes through enterprise rollout.
• Own core product areas end-to-end, covering data modeling, API design, and operational health.
• Partner with product, design, and frontend engineers to translate ambiguous problems into technical plans.
• Optimize performance and reliability under real production loads, specifically for real-time alert pipelines.
• Build comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure proactive issue resolution.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, code reviews, and the establishment of team standards.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience, focusing on user-facing web or mobile products.
• Strong proficiency in Python with production experience in Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
• Expertise in API design across REST, GraphQL, or gRPC.
• Experience modeling data across SQL, NoSQL, time-series, and vector stores.
• Working knowledge of a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Must be based in the Bay Area to support a hybrid work schedule in Redwood City.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time systems such as WebSockets, pub/sub, or streaming pipelines.
• Knowledge of TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks like React or Vue.
• Background in video infrastructure, computer vision, or LLM and agentic applications.
• Experience scaling multi-tenant SaaS into large enterprise deployments.
