TL;DR

Legal Counsel (SaaS): Preparing and negotiating commercial agreements for a global commerce platform with an accent on multi-jurisdictional contracts and regulatory compliance. Focus on identifying legal risks in new product development and managing complex cross-functional projects.

Location: Montreal, Canada (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office)

What you will do

• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with customers, strategic partners, and vendors across NOAM, EMEA, and APAC.
• Provide legal and commercial advice to stakeholders across all company departments.
• Identify and advise on legal risks and compliance issues for the development and marketing of new products.
• Perform focused legal research and analysis for multi-jurisdictional projects.
• Monitor regulatory changes and manage requests from government authorities.
• Support litigation and dispute management processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• Licensed to practice law in Canada and/or the United States.
• 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel.
• Extensive background in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and terms and conditions.
• Fluency in English is required; French is considered a strong asset.

• Experience in technology, financial services, or SaaS industries.
• Specific expertise with SaaS, procurement, and partnership (referral, reseller, integration) agreements.
• Knowledge of Privacy, IP, Fiscalization, and Corporate laws.
