Scheme Actuary (Pensions Consolidation)

Location: Hybrid across hirify.global's UK regional offices, with primary hubs in Manchester and Scotland

What you will do

• Act as Scheme Actuary for a portfolio of Enplan defined benefit pension schemes.
• Deliver complex actuarial calculations, written advice, and technical projects, including benefit rectification, GMP equalisation, insurance, and end-game planning.
• Lead client engagements, managing project plans, budgets, deadlines, governance, risk, and stakeholder relationships.
• Manage and coach Analysts, Assistant Managers, and Managers across client projects.
• Build trusted relationships with trustees, sponsors, Entrust contacts, and internal hirify.global teams.
• Support the commercial growth and ongoing development of the Enplan proposition through new opportunities, training, and thought leadership.

Requirements

• Qualified actuary with FIA or FFA and Scheme Actuary certification, or the ability to obtain the certificate immediately.
• Strong experience advising Trustee Boards and managing Scheme Actuary appointments and trustee relationships.
• Strong understanding of the UK defined benefit pensions landscape and the challenges facing pension schemes and consolidators.
• Strong technical actuarial and pensions expertise, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• Excellent project management, client delivery, stakeholder management, and prioritisation skills across multiple engagements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and coach and develop colleagues.
