TL;DR

Scheme Actuary (Pensions): Providing high-level actuarial advice and technical delivery for defined benefit pension consolidators with an accent on trustee-facing advice and risk management. Focus on managing a portfolio of schemes, leading client engagements, and shaping the growth of the Enplan consolidation proposition.

Location: Hybrid (UK). Primary hubs in Manchester and Scotland.

What you will do

  • Act as Scheme Actuary for a portfolio of Enplan schemes, providing credible advice to Trustees and stakeholders.
  • Deliver complex actuarial calculations and written advice across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Lead client engagements, managing project planning, timescales, budgets, and stakeholder relations.
  • Coach and develop junior team members, including Analysts, Assistant Managers, and Managers.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with sponsors and internal teams.
  • Identify commercial opportunities to expand the scope of work and grow the Enplan proposition.

Requirements

  • Qualified actuary (FIA/FFA) with Scheme Actuary certification (or ability to obtain it immediately).
  • Proven track record of advising Trustee Boards and managing a portfolio of Scheme Actuary appointments.
  • Deep understanding of the UK DB pensions landscape and challenges facing consolidators.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and pragmatically to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and experience balancing competing demands and deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach with a genuine interest in coaching and developing others.
