What you will do

• Own the UAV battery architecture from cell selection to production-ready packs.
• Design battery safety protocols and thermal management strategies, including thermal runaway mitigation.
• Architect the Battery Management System (BMS) and algorithms for SoC/SoH estimation and protection.
• Execute hands-on testing and validation using cyclers and thermal chambers for abuse scenarios.
• Manage technical relationships and quality control with battery cell suppliers.
• Collaborate with Mechanical and Firmware teams on packaging and BMS parameters.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Proven experience delivering battery systems for high-performance robotics, aerospace, or UAVs.
• Expertise in cell characterization, BMS architecture, and thermal management.
• Knowledge of safety compliance standards such as UN38.3 and UL.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Paris.

Nice to have

• Experience at drone manufacturers (e.g., DJI, Skydio, Anduril) or EV companies (e.g., Rivian, Tesla).
