TL;DR

Location: Hybrid (Mountain View, California), requires in-office presence at least 3 days per week
Salary: $189,000–$303,000 per year

What you will do
- Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency logging frameworks capable of handling massively parallel data streams.
- Define smart, dynamic data collection policies for high-fidelity snapshots and routine driving data.
- Evaluate and tune file systems to maximize write speeds and guarantee data integrity.
- Collaborate with systems and hardware teams to optimize kernel-level I/O performance and select storage media (NVMe, SSDs).
- Provide engineering support for field testing and fleet operations.
- Mentor senior engineers and drive the long-term roadmap for on-vehicle data lifecycle management.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Expert-level C++ programming skills for high-performance, thread-safe, and memory-efficient systems in Linux.
- Proven experience with storage technologies, block devices, and file system crash-consistency constraints.
- Ability to navigate and work effectively in large codebases across multiple programming languages.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be based in or able to work from Mountain View, CA for hybrid office attendance.
