What you will do

• Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency logging frameworks capable of handling massively parallel data streams.
• Define smart, dynamic data collection policies for high-fidelity snapshots and routine driving data.
• Evaluate and tune file systems to maximize write speeds and guarantee data integrity.
• Collaborate with systems and hardware teams to optimize kernel-level I/O performance and select storage media (NVMe, SSDs).
• Provide engineering support for field testing and fleet operations.
• Mentor senior engineers and drive the long-term roadmap for on-vehicle data lifecycle management.

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• Expert-level C++ programming skills for high-performance, thread-safe, and memory-efficient systems in Linux.
• Proven experience with storage technologies, block devices, and file system crash-consistency constraints.
• Ability to navigate and work effectively in large codebases across multiple programming languages.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be based in or able to work from Mountain View, CA for hybrid office attendance.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance evaluation and optimization.
• Strong programming skills in GoLang.
