Senior Autonomy Middleware Engineer (C++/ROS): Developing core autonomy development frameworks and middleware for heavy machinery in mining and construction environments with an accent on production-quality C++ software and hardware integration. Focus on implementing functional safety software, optimizing communication networks (CAN/Ethernet), and integrating AI concepts into robotics platforms.

Location: Must work onsite five days a week in Mossville, IL. Domestic relocation available. Visa sponsorship is NOT available.

Salary: $112,710 - $183,140

What you will do

• Develop production-quality C++ software for autonomy frameworks.
• Design and implement middleware and application frameworks while following work standards.
• Support requirements generation and architectural trade-offs.
• Collaborate on functional safety software design and validation processes.
• Integrate hardware and software solutions via CAN/Ethernet.
• Manage tasks using Azure DevOps and version control via Git.

Requirements

• Proficiency in C++ and experience with Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) and core robotics principles.
• Knowledge of device drivers, hardware diagnostics, and communication networks (J1939/CAN/Ethernet).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
